In Beast Wars 12, a trashed Predacon undergoes an experiment that mirrors how Dinobot II came to be in the original television series, giving fans another chance at a character who failed to hit the mark the first time around.
The lifeless body of the villainous Predacon Terrorsaur just underwent an experiment that will likely mirror Dinobot's twisted resurrection in the original Transformers: Beast Wars television show.
This latest move is keeping up with IDW Publishing's pattern of perfectly retconning some of the beloved '90s cartoon's very few shortcomings. Terrorsaur is unmistakably Beast Wars' version of the infamous Starscaream, and yet, Terrorsaur randomly fell and died in a lava pit at the end of the first season in what was an unfortunate oversight of the original TV show.
Aside from the obvious nod to Dinobot II, this retcon serves other purposes. The first is more proprietary to IDW's comic. It's intriguing that Tarantulas, not Megatron, will be creating what will hopefully be another version of Frankenstein's monster.
Regardless, IDW will hopefully have Tarantulas build Terrorsaur II faster than originally planned as it was recently announced that the publisher lost the rights of both Transformers and Beast Wars. It would be a shame if fans never get to see Terrorsaur II before the series ends prematurely sometime this summer. .
