Police are seeking help in locating a man who allegedly stole a cat from an adoption area at a Salt Lake City pet store on Saturday morning.

Bosco, a black cat up for adoption by CAWS, was stolen from a Salt Lake City PetSmart but later returned to another store location on January 29.A cat that was stolen from a local PetSmart adoption area Saturday morning was later returned to another PetSmart.

Employees at the store at 389 W. 1830 South said a man came to the store about 10 a.m. asking about adopting a cat, according to an email from a volunteer with the Community Animal Welfare Society. After they told him he’d need to fill out an application, the man walked over to the cat kennels, coaxed a cat out and left the store with him.
