“The Special Investigations Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal police-involved shooting that happened today in Markham,” SIU spokesman Monica Hudon said Friday. “The preliminary information indicates plainclothes York Regional Police officers were investigating a white vehicle.”
“There was a confrontation between between the occupants of the vehicle and police officers. Two officers discharged their firearms and two men were struck.
