“Those were investigations that all involved a group of about four suspects, forcing their way into a home between 3 a.m. and 4:30 a.m., armed with firearms and essentially threatening the homeowners and taking their cash and valuables,” Nicolle said.SIU trucks and police vehicles could be seen at the scene of the shooting on Friday afternoon. Police tape roped off the scene. The residential streets appeared quiet otherwise.
In a “confrontation,” two officers discharged their firearms and two men were shot, said the SIU, adding that one of the suspects was armed.
