JEREMY FRASER/CAPE BRETON POST. - Jeremy FraserSYDNEY, N.S. - The Membertou Jr. Miners and Pictou County Scotians split victories in a home-and-home series in Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League action over the weekend.Luke Young, Nate Supryka, Ryan Frizzle, Thomas Kennaley, and Matt Carson netted goals for the Scotians.Pictou County's Brandon Connors made 38 saves. Membertou's Darian McInnis stopped 25 of 30 shots.
Meanwhile, on Saturday, Membertou edged Pictou County 6-5 at the Membertou Sport and Wellness Centre. Nathaniel Fuller found the back of the net twice, while Nathan MacMillan, Landon Clark, Alex MacKinnon, and Blake Cox netted goals for the Jr. Miners.Membertou's McInnis made 35 saves. Pictou County's Connors stopped 24 of 30 shots.
In other league results, the Eskasoni Eagles fell to the Antigonish AA Munro Bulldogs 11-2 at the Dan K. Stevens Memorial Arena in Eskasoni on Sunday. Ray MacKinnon, Will Mierau, and Sam Grant each scored twice, while Ethan Twolan, Sam MacNeill, Owen Flemming, Matthew Bercovici, and Will Fitzsimmons chipped in with single markers for the Bulldogs.Antigonish's Cody MacEachern made 17 saves.
