The Bluenose squad finished fourth in the inaugural rugby sevens tournament at the Games. Local players Brooke Reid, River John, and Kate Bethell, Pictou, both played important roles for Nova Scotia during the tournament. Jayden Palmer of MacLellan’s Brook, came in to play first base in the bottom of the fourth and scored a pair of runs for Nova Scotia. She singled in her first at-bat at the top of the sixth. She moved to second on a wild pitch, stole third and scored on Lauren Arnold’s triple. In the seventh inning, Palmer reached on a fielder’s choice, was singled to second, moved to third on a walk, and then scored thanks to a another single.
