Yarmouth runner Hudson Grimshaw-Surette, who has been competing with the Dalhousie University athletics team for the past number of years, is part of Team Nova Scotia heading to the Canada Games in Niagara, Ontario in August. CONTRIBUTEDYARMOUTH, NS – It would be nearly impossible to – pardon the pun – track the overall distance Hudson Grimshaw-Surette has covered in his lifetime on the track, on cross country courses, during training and in races.

This past season he was once again part of the Dalhousie University athletics team. Asked what keeps him involved in the sport, he says it’s definitely the personal growth you gain through being involved in the sport. Because of the COVID pandemic, he says, one of the years he was at the university didn’t count against that eligibility.

Grimshaw-Surette has had much success with cross country and track during his high school and university years. Asked what times he’s been running these distances this season; he says he ran the 1500 distance in 3 minutes and 59 seconds outdoors this year. The 5000-metre distance he did in 14 minutes and 31 seconds.
