“We had a rough go in the past few nationals, losing in the semis, and to finally get to the final and win it, it is an unreal feeling.” “We came out strong the first game and kept it rolling through the full week,” said the 16-year-old McCurdy, from Old Barns. “It felt great.” “Our team set up the ends perfectly,” said MacIsaac. “I had easy shots on my last ones. A skipper doesn’t have a hard job when you have three amazing curlers setting it up for you.”“We came out firing, good communication and everything was going well,” said Fisher, 16. “It was absolutely great.”“This was a team win throughout the week,” said Gray. “Everyone did their part.
“To have all your family here, have it close to home, everyone can come watch, I’m trying to not choke up,” said MacIsaac, from Greenwood. “It’s pretty emotional.”“We’ve worked hard for this, practising almost every day of the week for many years,” said MacIsaac. “Me, my lead and second have been together for seven or eight years now. To win it with these guys is really special.”
