Newfoundland and Labrador captured three gold medals at minor Atlantic Soccer championships on the weekend. The girls’ U-13 defeated PEI 6-2 at KGV in St. John’s on goals by Kate Reimer, Danica Edwards, Ireland Winters, Mylee Tapper and Millie Janes.
Also at KGV, the U-14 girls scored the only goal of the match against Nova Scotia to claim gold. Carley Coffey had the goal and Athei Achiek stopped everything kicked her way. The boys U-13 were golden in PEI with a convincing 4-0 win over Nova Scotia in the gold medal match. Blake Lane, Jacob Percy, Matthew Earle and Jamieson Nash provided the offensive firepower.

Gold trades flat ahead of the European open(Kitco News) - Gold is trading pretty much flat ahead of the European open this morning.
