And Nike, who have sponsored Greenwood since he made his debut for United in 2019, have released a statement to say they’re monitoring the situation. ‘We are deeply concerned by the disturbing allegations and will continue to closely monitor the situation,’ a statement read. Manchester United released a statement in which they stress they do not ‘condone violence of any kind’ and will make no comment until the ‘facts have been established’.‘We will not make any further comment until the facts have been established. Manchester United does not condone violence of any kind.’
Greater Manchester Police added: ‘We are aware of images and videos circulating on social media. Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.’
