Nashville SC announces its withdrawal from the MLSisBack Tournament, becoming the second team to drop out of the competition.
The team said despite precautions when it landed in Orlando on July 1, one player tested positive upon arrival at the host hotel, and another eight tested positive within a few days.
“In what has been a challenging year, and in an uncharted environment created by the tornado that devastated our city and COVID-19, this is another big disappointing outcome for Nashville SC and its supporters,” said Nashville SC CEO Ian Ayre in a statement. Nashville SC is working with MLS and local health officials to bring home players and staff who have tested negative.
