A missing Nanaimo man was found alive Thursday evening after a CHEK News viewer recognized details about the missing person in a news story he thought he’d seen during the day.

“As the day progressed Thursday we were getting frustrated because it was going to be getting dark again and time was an issue,” said Michael McKillican, Peakman’s brother-in-law. “You guys agreed to do the story and and he took it on with Gary O’Brien of the RCMP and they tracked exactly the mapping of where everybody thought it would start and end, and everybody started looking and that story was amazing,” added McKillican.
