Brad Johns has resigned from cabinet. He will no longer be Nova Scotia's Justice Minister. His resignation comes a day after comments he made on domestic violence in Nova Scotia.
In a news release on Friday evening, Premier Tim Houston said he had accepted Johns's resignation. Johns apologized for his comment on Thursday afternoon, and subsequently contacted several women's shelters across the province to personally apologize.Houston reiterated his government's position on domestic violence in Friday's news release, saying it's an issue it "takes very seriously."
