ST. JOHN'S, N.L. — Newfoundland and Labrador is introducing two urgent care centres in the St. John’s metro area, which aim to improve timely access to urgent medical attention while relieving pressure on emergency departments.
A second lease valued at around $900,000 has been awarded to Newfoundland and Labrador Health Alliance for 11,572 square feet of space at the former Costco building, 28 Stavanger Dr., St. John’s.Emergency room shutdowns and overcrowding cause concern among N.L. residents The urgent care centres will offer an alternative access point for non-emergency patients in the metro region, catering to urgent, non-life-threatening medical conditions such as sprains, strains, fever, infections and minor childhood injuries.
