Chris Pollock , now 47 and the lead pastor at Mustard Seed Street Church , was back at the Bay Street Armoury on Saturday to help with the church's annual Christmas luncheon, which has been running for nearly half a century. The event, funded in part by the Times Colonist Christmas Fund , serves hundreds of people a Christmas feast from noon to 3 p.m., accompanied by live music.
Attendees, who are encouraged to stick around after the meal to enjoy the music, range from regulars like Mike Latte to newcomers like Bosco Tu, who values the event as a rare chance to connect with family. Athena Varlis, who was unable to attend last year due to health issues, was happy to have made it to this year's luncheon, despite her second helping being for someone else
