The Hill Times
More than two dozen MPs have opted out of running in the next federal election. As of July 22, 16 Liberal MPs have already signalled their plans not to reoffer, followed by four Conservatives, five NDP, and one independent MP. The next fixed election date is Oct. 20, 2025, but the Liberals could call a snap election at any time, or the government could lose a confidence vote should the NDP stop supporting their supply-and-confidence agreement with the Liberals.
