The West Shore RCMP says two men were arrested after a massive shoplifting spree that spanned Greater Victoria, and that even more stolen items were found in one of the suspect’s homes after his arrest.
Mounties say they conducted covert surveillance on the suspects and watched them enter multiple Home Depot, London Drugs and Best Buy locations across the Capital Regional District – allegedly swiping items from each spot.Once they were in custody, police say they found more than $10,000 worth of merchandise inside one of the suspect’s cars, which was believed to have been stolen earlier that day.
On Sept. 13, the West Shore RCMP says it obtained a search warrant for one of the suspect’s homes in New Westminster., the West Shore RCMP says roughly $50,000 in stolen goods was found, as well as thousands of pills and $30,000 in cash. “Our officers worked diligently on this investigation, conducting surveillance on the suspects, arresting them and recovering stolen merchandise and cash, as well as thousands of doses of illicit and prescription drugs,” said Supt. Todd Preston, Officer in Charge of West Shore RCMP.
