Quebec confirmed 15 cases of monkeypox as of Monday and four are being investigated in Toronto
and one probable case of the virus were reported in Toronto on Wednesday, bringing the total number of cases being investigated in the city to four.
That first case involved a man in his 40s who had contact with someone who had recently travelled to Montreal. The agency said Wednesday that the first case was now considered a probable case. “We expect more cases to be confirmed in the coming days,” Jean-Yves Duclos said in a statement. It wasn’t immediately clear what symptoms the people infected were showing, nor how serious their condition might be.
