Burnaby Mayor Mike Hurley has been elected the new chair of the Metro Vancouver board, amid ongoing spending controversies.
Mike Hurley will lead the board and wasted no time asking for an independent review of cost overruns at the North Shore Wastewater Treatment Plant. As Catherine Urquhart reports, a motion to crack down on international travel was deferred.
“Being referred feels like it’s kicking the can down the road and just delaying a process and conversation that’s inevitable that needs to be held in our community,” he said.
