This year's Burnaby Blues and Roots will feature a range of stunning voices in B.C.'s most beautiful outdoor venue.
Mavis Staples, renowned civil rights icon and Grammy Award-winner, will headline this year's free Burnaby Blues and Roots Festival at Deer Lake Park Aug. 10.
After forming in the 1950s, the group became highly involved in the American civil rights movement in the '60s.As a solo artist, Staples is known for hits like "I'll Take You There" and has won three Grammys.
