Man stabbed at southeast Edmonton bus stop in ‘random’ attack yeg

Police continue to search for the suspect, who fled the area on foot. Investigators believe the stabbing was random. During a news conference in Edmonton on addressing crime Thursday, federal Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre mentioned the stabbing and the shooting death of a man found in an apartment lobby in a list of recent crimes in Edmonton and Calgary.
Last month, Edmonton police partially released its crime analysis for 2022, focusing on calls to transit locations. The service found those calls rose by 31.4 per cent last year compared to 2021, while calls for “violent occurrences” at transit locations rose 52.8 per cent.
