A British Columbia man has been convicted of murdering two individuals and attempting to murder a third in a shooting at a park in Surrey, B.C.
SURREY, B.C. — The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has announced that a man has been found guilty of two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder in a shooting incident that occurred in Surrey, British Columbia, more than two years ago. On July 30, 2022, police responded to reports of gunshots at the South Surrey Athletic Park. Upon arrival, they found three individuals suffering from gunshot wounds.
Tragically, Jordan Krishna and Robeen Soreni succumbed to their injuries, while a third victim received treatment for life-threatening injuries. IHIT took over the investigation and swiftly arrested 25-year-old Bryce Campbell shortly after the incident. Campbell was subsequently charged with two counts of second-degree murder and one count of attempted murder. On Monday, a B.C. Supreme Court jury in New Westminster delivered their verdict, finding Campbell guilty on all three charges. The IHIT has confirmed that a sentencing hearing will be scheduled in the coming weeks. While a murder conviction automatically carries a life sentence, the judge will determine the length of time Campbell must serve before becoming eligible for parole.
