THUNDER BAY — A 19-year-old man faces multiple charges after an attempted grocery store robbery that ended with him throwing a beer at someone.Police said the accused entered the store, taking beer and other merchandise without paying. A store security guard confronted the man in the parking lot and escorted him back into the store.
The man then began throwing items at store staff, attempted to take money from a cash register, and then again left the store. During that altercation, the accused threw a beer can, which struck an individual. That person declined medical attention.The 19-year-old Thunder Bay man is charged with robbery with theft and breach of recognizance. He appeared in bail court on Saturday and was released with conditions and a future court date.
