VicPD says just before 9 p.m. on July 29, officers were called to the 700 block of Summit Avenue for a break-in at a business.“The suspect accelerated with force, narrowly missing a responding officer before striking and dislodging a metal fence, which flew into oncoming traffic on Douglas Street,” VicPD said in a release. “The vehicle continued northbound out of sight.
Officers continued to monitor the vehicle and decided the vehicle must be stopped after “witnessing numerous instances of dangerous driving endangering both the public and the police.”Sign up for the CHEK Now daily email newsletter to get breaking news and the day's top stories sent to your email.Police engaged in a vehicle pursuit and around 9:45 p.m. the driver was driving on Oak Street in Saanich and two VicPD cruisers intentionally hit the stolen vehicle to stop Gordon from continuing.
