Monteith will return to court Thursday, either for sentencing or to set a date for sentencing. That will depend on the outcome of a trial in a different Dartmouth courtroom on a charge of assaulting a correctional officer in June 2023.The stabbing-related charges against Monteith are expected to be withdrawn.
The suspect, who police said was known to the victim, left the scene in a vehicle. Officers saw the vehicle on Wyse Road in Dartmouth at about 3:45 a.m. and tried to stop it.
