Dorota Bartnik\u002DKapsa, tired of the weekly commitment to colouring her hair, decided to do something about it and is loving her new look.
Dorota has coarse and densely textured hair. She has been colouring her own hair for many years using a dark-brown drugstore colour. She was growing tired of the weekly commitment and had been wanting to transition her colour for some time, as the pressure and maintenance was too much for her, and she decided to finally go for it.
To achieve her grey-blend colour transformation, I started by performing a colour-removal service to gently eliminate as much of her dark-brown permanent colour as possible. Once we lifted much of her colour out, I applied platinum highlights and grey-brown lowlights in back-to-back foil packets to the mid-lengths and ends of her hair. I left it to process for 45 minutes, then rinsed her hair and applied an ammonia-free colour refinement in a champagne-silver tone. This process took roughly six hours to complete, and the end result looks incredible. A six-week post appointment is always recommended to further refine the colour.Article content I cleansed her hair with KMS Color Vitality Blonde Shampoo and Conditioner to help illuminate blonde and silver hair. I then applied Oribe Supershine Moisturizing Cream to her hair as a leave-in, for added shine and hydration. Prior to blow drying her hair with a round brush, I applied a pea-size amount of Oribe Hair Alchemy Fortifying Treatment Serum to her mid-lengths and ends to strengthen and provide heat protection. I also applied a small amount of Oribe Crème for Style for firm yet flexible all-day hold and frizz taming. I used a curling wand to create a soft bend to her hair and finished the style with Oribe Silverati Illuminating Pomade.Dorota has beautiful skin and wears very little makeup. I used a sheer tinted foundation to even out her complexion and dusted her face with a hint of bronzer. To enhance her hazel-green eyes, I lined them with a shimmery-plum waterproof liner and followed by filling in her eyebrows with a grey, long-wearing brow pencil. I curled her lashes and coated them with black mascara, then finished her look with a soft pink blush for her cheeks and a sheer plum lip tint.Article content
