Four Vancouver Island hotels have made it on Michelin’s inaugural hotel guide, including one property that received the company’s highest honour.

Perhaps best known for their Michelin Star restaurant guides and tires, Michelin launched its first-ever list of outstanding accommodations across the globe this week.. The accommodations are divided into three different tiers, with the highest tier described as “3 Key” hotels, followed by 2 Key and 1 Key accommodations.

The lodge boasts gourmet food made with local ingredients, a spa and a range of wilderness activities – like guided whale-watching tours, hiking, kayaking and heli-fly fishing where helicopters take anglers to prime fishing holes.Nightly stays at the luxury hotel begin around $2,900 a night, and the lodge was recently featured in National Geographic’s list of “

The only other Canadian hotel to receive a 3 Key distinction from Michelin was Fogo Island Inn in Joe Batt’s Arm, NL.
