Pasma, her party’s poverty and homelessness reduction critic, said it was impossible to eat a healthy diet on under $48 a week. “What we do know is people in Ontario are literally going hungry right now,” Pasma said. “As MPPs we can’t possibly know what it’s like to live on Ontario Works or ODSP, but what these two weeks have highlighted for us is the struggle to afford fresh healthy food on such a small budget.”
