Several roads and one of the gates to the event were closed while police investigated.
The Long Beach Police Department first reported heavy police activity near the area of E. Ocean Boulevard and Elm Avenue just after 5 p.m. Officials later confirmed that an officer-involved shooting had occurred in the area, but provided no details on what may have led to the shooting, who fired, and if anyone had been struck by gunfire.
The shooting led officials to warn attendees of the nearby Grand Prix to avoid the area while officers investigated.
