State and local leaders gathered with community members a National Day of Prayer celebration on the steps of Rochester City Hall, Thursday, May 2, 2024.
The day brings together people of all religions to pray for the community, its leaders and the nation. “I’m praying for all our elected officials, Republican, Democrat, Independent," said David Scott, Monroe County's chief diversity officer. "We are all in this together, regardless of where we are standing on certain issues, so just keep praying, keep praying for the city, keep praying for this county, and Lord knows the world needs our prayers too.”
