Local group to host screening of documentary film 'Tantura'

Doors open at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Klub Community Centre on Queen Street

A local organization is hosting a screening tomorrow night of the documentary film Tantura, a 2022 production that sheds light on an alleged massacre carried out by Israeli soldiers against Palestinian villagers in 1948.

Organized by the group SSM4Palestine, in collaboration with The Klub Community Centre, the screening is scheduled for Saturday at 6:30 p.m. at 642 Queen St. E., Unit 1."Our community's exposure to the realities of the Middle East is limited," said Dania Kuzbari, a member of ssm4Palestine, in a news release.

Saturday's event will also include a keynote speech from Chief Louis Kwissiwa of Netmizaaggamig Nishnaabeg First Nation.More information about the film, which is available on Amazon Prime and Apple TV, can be found HERE.
