Scattered flurries and sub-zero temperatures persist in parts of southern British Columbia, with warnings issued for extreme cold conditions in certain regions.

Winter's hold on southern British Columbia might persist as scattered flurries remain in the forecast for parts of Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley. Meteorologist Derek Lee from Environment Canada indicates that another low-pressure system could bring brief snow showers on Saturday and Sunday, but the precipitation won't be extensive, likely affecting eastern Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley.

While snowfall in February for southern BC isn't extraordinary, Lee notes that its continued presence is less common, and there are no indications of warming in the coming week.Lee stated that sub-zero temperatures will persist in the Lower Mainland, and it could even become colder, particularly overnight, dipping as low as -8 C. However, sunny conditions are expected during the day. Arctic outflow warnings are currently in effect for several regions of the province, including the Whistler Valley and inland areas of the North Coast, where wind-chill values could plummet to -20 C. An extreme cold warning is issued for Yoho and Kootenay national parks, where the combination of arctic air mass and winds results in wind-chill values approaching -35 C
