Tenants do not have the same investment as resident owners. Tenants cannot be on council and have no voting rights. They are not responsible for management or maintenance. Absent owners are hard to contact. The process dealing with problems with their property or tenants is long and arduous. David Eby’s sweeping reforms have not considered these facts. Owners sharing joint property should not be penalized for the housing shortage in the Greater Vancouver area.
Question. Do you think said owners living in a strata are going to rent those units at an affordable rate?
