Letters to the Editor, July 21, 2023
Correct me if I’m wrong. Mary Simon is the King’s representative in Canada. In my mind, the King’s representative should be a person appointed and paid by the Crown residing here as a symbolic link between King and Canada. Why is she attending these useless, unrelated to King Charles, and ludicrously expensive conferences around the world representing Canada at our expense? Mary Simon is the Royal’s representative not Canada’s.
As a science teacher, I am always pleased to see scientists portrayed on the big screen with Oppenheimer, a theoretical physicist, and Barbie an astronaut, Mars explorer, astrophysicist, chemist, entomologist, marine biologist, robotics engineer, paleontologist and zoologist among her many different careers. She was also a science teacher, like me, although I was less into pink.
