Our building codes may need to change also. As we continue to have grid failures, the economic pressure to build a different type of reliability will increase.After the most recent disabling attack on U.S. critical electric substations, I am stunned at the milquetoast response of the massive number of agencies and armed services funded with billions of taxpayer dollars every year to protect the United States.
In the case of the United States of America, the concept of a “Senate” is a historical allusion to the Roman Senate made up of the patriarchs of the wealthiest. In some ways, our Senate is more elite. It has stricter qualifications, more prestige, larger salaries and staff, and is considered a stepping stone to higher office. Its control of Supreme Court nominations has made it powerful indeed.
Keller ISD’s school board took a different approach — with a 4-3 vote, it will allow trained staff to carry guns. How can a school board think that more guns will lessen violence? Will our schools soon have gunfights inside? Are any of the parents of the deceased children at Sandy Hook recommending we arm school personnel?
