If Collin May, head of Alberta’s Human Rights Commission, is suspected of “Islamophobia” by a wide range of Muslim groups and mosques, then it makes his continued leadership at AHRC untenable. People, including Muslim Albertans, need to have a sense of trust and confidence that the AHRC will deal fairly with their issues and concerns. Otherwise, they are right to conclude it’s not fit for purpose. Justice, as the saying goes, must be seen to be done.
