Concerning recruitment and retention troubles in the Canadian Forces, people do not realize that it is reserves who make up much of our forces on deployment. If you look at theof a Class A reservist you will see that a recruit earns $101.96 per day. A typical training day is about 13 hours but can be much longer. So during a normal training day a recruit in the Reserve Force is earning roughly $7.82 per hour.

Poilievre’s claim that government spending causes inflation is simplistic. Inflation is caused by many factors, only one of which is total spending in relation to the productive capacity of the economy. For example, Japan has had the highest debt-to-GDP ratio in the world and engaged in massive quantitative easing for decades but only now is experiencing mild inflation because of global factors such as rising energy prices.
