NICOLE SULLIVAN/CAPE BRETON POST - Nicole SullivanWith Cape Breton University and the Cape Breton University Faculty Association ending talks over contract negotiations, the topic in the headlines has drifted away from student issues to two groups of adults fighting over money.
Behind the scenes both CBUFA and CBU have been sending emails, debunking each other’s claims and trying to provide information while spamming our mailboxes. In my opinion, and a few of my peers, our president and high-level executives are making too much money for what they are doing. The university is starting to resemble a modern-day S&P 500 company where the CEO is making big bucks and the actual workers just getting by. But in this case the professors and staff are making a comfortable wage already, with low level employees making as much or more in some cases than some nurses and doctors.
