Faculty association president Dr. Adango Miadonye said their ask is down from 17 per cent over two years and it reflects inflation as well as equity parity with other universities. "Most of my teachers are in the union and they've been preparing us for what to expect. I'm not worried work-wise because the work has been posted online and I can work on it myself."Chanda Gupta is in his last semester of the public administration and management baccalaureate program at CBU and said a strike will"definitely" affect him.

"We were told that wouldn't affect us," she said."But if it does, I don't know what we will do. We don't have enough time on our study permits so we'd have to extend them. It is too difficult for us to do that." The two friends said the communication they get from the faculty association seems to explain both sides of the negotiation standstill while the emails from CBU administration seem"very biased" toward their side.

McDougall, who is in his first full-time semester, is concerned about having difficulty learning the university coursework for his bachelor of arts without classes or access to professors. "The cry from the faculty association from the very beginning has been 'where's the money, show us the money, what's in it for us.'"
