Rochinski will remain at Lake Creek as a teacher, assistant athletic coordinator and will become an assistant golf coach.“I’d had some thoughts go through my head, there was a lot of journaling going on with the positives and negatives, and ultimately it came down to I want to be able to watch both of my kids play at the next level,” Rochinski said in a phone interview Monday afternoon.
Rochinski led Lake Creek to an 85-1 overall record over the last two years, with two state championships and a national championship in 2022. The Lions topped previously undefeated New Braunfels Canyon 8-0 in the state final Saturday afternoon at McCombs Field in Austin. “I honestly don’t think I’ll be back getting into it,” Rochinski said. “I think I’ll enjoy this next part of it. Doing what I love and being able to help mentor these other coaches and see a lot of these other kids play different sports as well. I’m going to enjoy this next phase of my life.”
