Police were told that an unknown man got into a woman’s SUV, triggered what sounded like a taser and ordered the woman out of the driver’s seat.
Police in Kelowna are searching for an armed suspect and a stolen vehicle following a Sunday afternoon car-jacking.
Around 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Kelowna RCMP were called to a hotel in the 1000-block of Harvey Avenue for the report of a car-jacking. “The victim promptly exited her vehicle and ran away after she turned around and observed what appeared to be a firearm in the suspect’s possession,” said RCMP Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey.
The suspect is described as a man in his late 20s or early 30s, about 5-foot-8 with short blonde balding hair, a wide mouth and a poor complexion. At the time of the car-jacking, the suspect was wearing a blue baseball game, a blue windbreaker and dark coloured jeans.Anyone who witnessed the car-jacking or who may have spotted the stolen vehicle is urged to contact police at 250-762-3300.
