Johnny Depp's lawyer Camille Vasquez praises the actor's 'bravery' for 'exposing his entire life' on the stand
She explained that she and her legal team lived in a hotel in Fairfax, Virginia, and would sometimes stay up until 5 a.m. working in their 'two war rooms'. Vasquez, who was an associate at Brown Rudnick at the time, delivered opening and closing arguments and also cross-examined Heard. She said she'd 'go to bed around 1 or 2 in the morning' and her team would stay up and slide what they were working on under her door before going to court.
Vasquez insisted it was her team's cross-examination, not just hers, though she was promoted to partner less than a week after the trial. She also praised Depp for his 'bravery' for having his 'life exposed just to seek justice and the truth' during the trial. Depp, 59, was awarded $15 million after a jury found that Heard, 36, defamed him by accusing him of abuse in a 2018 op-ed for The Washington Post.
