Today, Khanna is an immigration and real estate lawyer in Mississauga, Ont. He was a political candidate in the 2019 federal election. But, a decade ago, he worked for then-immigration minister Jason Kenney, who was credited with helping Prime Minister Stephen Harper turn much of the Greater Toronto Area blue.Article content, Khanna reflected on what he learned from Kenney. “It’s easy to talk about outreach, but you have to put the actual resources behind it,” he said.
Kenney did more than just show up to cultural events. He also introduced policy changes that resonated with voters. Khanna says that policies related to law enforcement and public safety were critical to showing that the Conservative party was listening to the concerns expressed by Canadians.
