Mike Cason al.com MONTGOMERY - Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey made her first announced public appearance in almost three weeks Monday morning and told reporters she had a “clean bill of health.”Ivey toured the new Science, Technology, Engineering and Math lab at Dalraida Elementary School in Montgomery.
People are also reading… Asked then whether she had any medical procedures that required an overnight hospital stay in the last month, Ivey mostly repeated the previous answer. Before Monday, Ivey’s last announced public appearance was Aug. 2 at a groundbreaking for a building materials company in Prattville. Ivey’s press office issued a statement on Aug. 11 dismissing the speculation about her health as “bogus rumors” and saying the governor was “healthy and cancer-free.”
Ivey announced in September 2019 she had lung cancer and released a statement from her doctor in January 2020 saying he considered her cured after radiation treatment. The governor described the cancer as a small, isolated malignancy.
