HALIFAX, N.S. — Hammering out the leftover details, Halifax regional councillors settled on a proposed budget on Tuesday that would increase the average tax bill by 6.3 per cent.
“We’re punishing the very people who are the working, middle, lower classes and they’re not getting a break anywhere financially,” she said. “If we don’t fully fund these positions, we will have a delay in trail work. I don’t know about your districts, but in my district, my trails are incredibly overgrown,” Cuttell said.
