House explosion, fire reported in northeast Calgary community of Marlborough yyc

Calgary police said officers attended the scene to assist fire crews with evacuations and road closures in the area. A police spokesperson said arson investigators were working with the Calgary Fire Department to determine whether the fire is criminal in nature. Enmax reported an unexpected power outage in Marlborough and the surrounding communities of Marlborough Parks, Franklin and Forest Heights shortly after the blast. The city utility estimated power would be restored for 11 a.m.
