The woman, Loletha, said that Sakemeyia, the woman she removed, was a relative of a previously evicted tenant's partner and had no legal right to be living there. When police arrived, they seemingly sided with Sakemeyia, telling Loletha to be more understanding of those less fortunate.
Loletha maintained she had no relationship with Sakemeyia and that she was unlawfully occupying her property. Bodycam footage captured the interaction, showing police suggesting Loletha consider the lack of housing opportunities for others. Despite Sakemeyia initially being cited under Georgia's new Squatter Reform Act, a judge later ruled that she was not a squatter.
