Fun and frolic will be highlighted this holiday season in multiple locations in the cities located on upper Galveston Bay and along the Houston Ship Channel.The Jimmy Burke Activity Center, 500 W. 13th Street, will be a hoppin’ place for Deer Park residents come Dec. 3.will be open for business from 4-8 p.m. that day at the center, featuring a snow play area and slides, carnival rides, pictures with Santa and s’mores.
For an extra charge on Dec. 3 is the Reindeer Park Character Experience. From 4:30-5:30 p.m., Christmas characters will be milling about at Reindeer Park, and there will also be activities and refreshments.Deer Park’s Community Center, 610 E. San Augustine, will be the site of Elf Camp come Dec. 20. From 1-3 p.m. that day, Christmas-themed crafts, games and science experiments will be offered for kids ages 5-11. The camp costs $12 per person.
Schools and community organizations will have performance groups on stage, and a snow slide, face painting, balloon artists, crafts and games will be available.which will get underway at 7 p.m. Dec. 3.
