Halsey Accused of Using LGBTQ Community as 'Marketing Strategy' (via PopCrush)
responded to an internet troll’s claim that she is using the LGBTQ+ community as marketing strategy to further her career.
The exchange took place after Halsey posted an Instagram image with the caption, “peak bi gurl [girl] evolution.” The purple-hued image showed Halsey performing on stage in Brazil while donning leather pants and a t-shirt with stage lights illuminating her from behind . Instagram user @borasavage commented under the photo, “rainbow is the new marketing strategy.” The comment referred to Halsey supporting the LGBTQ+ community by attending events, speaking about the community at her concerts and being a member of the community herself.
Halsey shut the troll down by citing her support throughout the years. “There’s been a [rainbow Pride] flag in my show for five years,” Halsey replied. “You’re just not paying attention you whiny little baby.”who claimed she was not bisexual because she was dating a man. The exchange happened when Halsey posted an image of herself on the cover of a magazine’s Pride issue for National Coming Out Day.
