A Save-On-Foods employee in Saanich, British Columbia, has created a massive art display featuring Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen made entirely from soda cases. Jeremy Kirby, a 30-year employee at the store, is known for his elaborate seasonal displays and has a passion for the Bills. His latest creation is a tribute to his favorite team ahead of the AFC Final.
At a Save-On-Foods in Saanich, shoppers walk past a massive display of art made of soda cases, and the man behind the masterpiece is playing favourites.
“It’s just one of those things where I take a lot of pride in doing my own work and seeing it through the way I want to see it,” says Kirby, who’s worked at the Save-On-Foods Saanich Plaza location for 30 years. For as long as he can remember, Kirby has been a die-hard fan of the Buffalo Bills, and the soda box shrine dominating the entrance to the store has required many trips to and from the warehouse. The Pepsi product promo depicts Bills quarterback Josh Allen in a post-touchdown flex – perfectly pixelated by Pepsi, Bubly, and Mug root beer cases. If you’re standing directly in front of it, it’s hard to take it all in, but like any pocket passer, the magic happens when you drop back.
Kirby is confident the Bills will beat their rival Kansas City Chiefs in Sunday’s AFC Final. “I’m going to make a prediction. It’s going to be 38-21 Bills,” he says.“He does such a good job,” says Martell. “His portfolio is crazy good.”
